Main Hall
With a maximum room capacity of 200 seats, the main hall accommodates a variety of seating arrangements for lectures, conferences, and dining. The center also maintains a complete, on-site inventory of conference-style furniture. Our staff will assist in designing a customized floor plan for your event. Common set-up options include:
- Lecture or theater style for up to 200
- Panel discussion or fireside chat, allowing up to an 18’ wide stage accomodating as many as 6 participants
- Fifteen 60" round tables, 135 seats maximum
- Classroom style with rented seminar tables for up to 100
- Boardroom with in-house cherry conference tables arranged in a hollow square for up to 35
Features
Auxiliary Room
This flexible space adjoins the main hall and can be configured for breakout sessions, overflow seating, receptions, or catering service.
VIP Room
This comfortable, private side room can be used as a green room or touch down space. Amenities include club chairs, refrigerator, table with 4 chairs and a mirror. Nearby side entrance provides security access and egress. Food and beverage are welcome.
Interpreter Room
The BCC is the only Stanford venue with a professional interpreter room for multi-lingual events. The built-in room provides optimal attendee experience by removing distracting translator noise from the event space, eliminating booth rental fees and maximizing floor space for conference activities. The room includes audio jacks for translation equipment and full room monitors for the interpreters. Learn more >>
Service Pantry
The main hall has a dedicated preparation pantry for caterer staging, food or beverage storage. Caterers appreciate the service entry and elevator to move foods quickly to guest tables, keeping your agenda on track. Commercial-grade equipment includes: refrigerator, warming oven, stainless steel counters, sinks, prep tables, and shelving.
Coit D. Blacker Lobby
Furnished with comfortable lounge seating and a photographic history of the building, the Encina Hall lobby is ideal for pre and post-event receptions of up to 100. Available after 5pm only. Registration tables can be set up here during normal business hours at no additional cost.
Oksenberg Room
The Oksenberg is ideal for breakouts, board meetings, intimate dining and auxiliary activities associated with a conference in the main hall. Many set up options are available. Occasionally, the Oksenberg Room is available without booking the main hall. Special arrangements must be made with BCC staff.
Bechtel Courtyard
With a lush landscape set against an elegant hardscape, this beautifully cultivated outdoor space is perfect for a reception or dinner during Stanford’s fair weather months. With its flexible design, this space can accommodate 20 – 100 in various settings. Available after 5pm only.
Moghadam Lobby
Boasting a “glass bridge” connecting east and west sections of the newly renovated Encina Commons, this sophisticated space is ideal for a small reception or dinner. Available after 5pm only.
